Chloroplasts are organelles found in eukaryotic plant cells which are used to make energy for plants. Chloroplast is not found in eukaryotic animal cells or prokaryotic cells because they do not create their own food source.
Function and parts
Chloroplasts uses chlorophyll in a process called photosynthesis to create energy for the cell. In photosynthesis the chloroplast uses carbon dioxide and light energy to create a type of energy which the cell uses. This process also creates oxygen and sugar, which all creatures need to survive.
All in all the chloroplasts is needed to create oxygen for animals to live and food energy for the plant, without the plant would die.
