VOTE FOR RIBOSOMES!!!!

what is a ribosome?

a ribosome is an organelle that is found in ever single cell.
prokaryotic? eukaryotic? animal cells? plant cells? yes, its in all of those.

why we need ribosomes
without ribosomes all living things would be dead. ribosomes help produce polypeptides and proteins with are essential for the cell. Ribosomes link amino acids together in the order specified by messenger RNA molecules. without this happeneing the cell would die. which means all living things would die.

structure:

Ribosomes consist of two subunits that fit together. One of the subunits is smaller than the other, it is slightly longer in the axis than in diameter.
Prokaryotic ribosomes are around 20 nm in diameter. they are made up of 65% ribosomal RNA and 35% ribosomal protein.
Eukaryotic ribosomes are between 25 and 30 nm in diameter and the ratio of rRNA to protein is close to 1.

obviously the ribosome is the best!
